Welcome to Domara German Shepherds. We feel that a well-bred German Shepherd Dog should sparkle and glow with beauty, intelligence and health. We strive towards that goal. We have been living with German Shepherds most of our lives and started breeding back in 1975. We pride ourselves on breeding for type, temperament, and working ability. All things that set this breed apart from any other. We have dogs living as wonderful, intelligent house pets, herding hogs (yes, hogs), sheep and turkeys (yup!), as well as wonderful k-9 working dogs, and last but definitely not least...as SHOW DOGS!
We start out as soon as we
can to get our pups to have a strong play drive and to please us humans
around them....they are very well socialized and stimulated from the
minute they are out of the womb! Phew, what a job!
We try very hard to stick
to the standard of the breed and to produce an animal that doesnt
need major maintenance and overmuscling to do its job. We want an
animal that can come out of the house and herd sheep all day, love
a good nap, a romp in the woods, and a run after a ball without missing
a beat.
We at Domara feel that a well-built
German Shepherd Dog should float on the wind; that a well-bred German
Shepherd Dog should sparkle and glow with beauty, intelligence and
health. We strive towards that goal.
We only breed one or sometimes
two litters a year (and sometimes no litters a year) we are very careful
